1st, Saturday / 8:00 a.m. - BREAKFAST WITH THE BIRDS WALK Fall
migration is nearly over for many species.
We’ll be on the lookout for winter residents like juncos,
white-throated sparrows, and winter wren. This
is a moderate to slow-paced walk. Binoculars
are necessary and a field guide is helpful.
Space is limited so call us to reserve a place. Ages:
7 to Adult

2nd, Sunday / 1:00p.m. - LEAST TRAVELED PATH / Sentry Ridge Trail Be
a part of this extended hike to a section of the sanctuary that sees far fewer
footsteps. This
will be great exercise and an opportunity for many to venture out onto a new
trail. Please
come prepared to spend a few hours out on the trail.
Participants should consider bringing water and a snack. Ages:
10 to adult
8th, Saturday / 1:00 p.m. - TINY TOTS BIRDFEEDER WORKSHOP Ages:
Ages 3 and older.
The
wildlife management area is not open to the public, so don’t miss this chance
to enjoy it! Discover
the floodplain at the Mianus River, a 200-year-old cemetery and bluebird fields.
Wear long pants.
We will meet at the museum and carpool to the area. Ages:
7 and older
15th, Saturday / 10:00 a.m. - BIRD FEEDER CONSTRUCTION This is a great
program for anyone interested in birds and bird feeding.
We will cover all the basics of bird feeding.
You’ll make a great bird feeder to get started, to add to your
collection, or give to someone as a gift. Registration
is required since space is limited. Ages: 6 to Adult
Register by Wednesday, November 12th Fee: $4 per bird
feeder for members
$6 per bird feeder for non-members
16th, Sunday / 1:00 p.m. - HABITAT IMPROVEMENT / Clearing Nichol's Field We are looking
for all persons interested in helping clear brush and invasive vegetation in
Nichol’s Field (the small clearing at the beginning of the Easy Loop Trail).
Anyone willing to help should bring work gloves and hand tools for
cutting shrubs, vines, and raspberry bushes.
Don’t forget water and a snack, too.
Show up any time from 1-5 p.m. to help. Ages: 10 to

ages are welcome on this hike designed especially for kids.
Children will visit four different habitats and look for signs of animal
life. We
will look for tracks, buck rubs, and bird nests.
We’ll search for natural treasures such as deer bones and owl pellets. Ages:
All ages welcome.
23rd, Sunday / 1:00 p.m. - LEAST TRAVELED PATH Join us on this hike along some of the trails least traveled by visitors. There is no telling what we will hear and see along the way. Dress for the weather.
