HOURS OF OPERATION:

Monday - Friday: 9:00-5:00

Saturday: 9:00-5:00

Sunday: 10:30-5:00

Admission is free.

* museum will be closed when staff is in the field.

TRAIL RULES:

Trails are open 7 days a week-dawn to dusk.

We do NOT allow dogs

Pick up a trail map at the KIOSK in the parking lot.

13th, Saturday / 8:00 a.m. -                 BREAKFAST WITH THE BIRDS

Join us as we search for and observe a number of species who have taken up residence in our forests for the winter.  Enjoy the winter birds at the bird feeders from the comfort of our bird window.  Binoculars and a field guide are helpful.  Refreshments will be available in the museum.  Space is limited so call us to reserve a place.

Ages:  All ages welcome      Register by 12 noon, Friday, December 12th

14th,  Sunday / ALL DAY. -  WESTMORELAND'S 14TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY BIRD COUNT

Join us for an all day count of our winter bird species.  This event is part of the National Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count.  Experienced and beginning bird watchers are encouraged to join in.  We need your help at home and in the field!  Call our office at (914) 666-8448 to see how you can be a part of this nationwide citizen science project.

Ages: 10 to Adult

20th, Saturday / 9:30 a.m. -          BREAKFAST WITH THE BIRDS

Come join us for this program tailored for the bird lover.  Participants will  sit and enjoy hot chocolate and donuts as we observe our feathered friends out our bird observation window.  Bring your feeder and squirrel questions and binoculars if you have them.

27th, Saturday / 11:00 a.m. -              CANDLEMAKING

Learn some of the history of candle-making and make your very own hand-dipped candle.  Participation is limited.  Please register in advance by calling the office. 

Ages: 6 to Adult                       Register by Wednesday, December 24^th

Fee: $4 for members

        $6 for non-members

28th, Sunday / 1:00 p.m. -                 WILDLIFE WALK

Join us for an exploration of Westmoreland’s trails.  We will search for birds, animal tracks, and hibernating insects.
