3rd, Saturday / 1:00 p.m. - LOST POND HIKE Shake off the
winter blues by joining us for a hike to Lost Pond.
This hike is approximately 1 mile in length.
Dress appropriately for the weather and bring some water.
The hike will be cancelled if trails are in poor condition. Ages:
7 to Adult
4th, Sunday / 8:00 a.m.. - ANIMALS IN WINTER When you are cozy and
warm in your home, do you ever wonder what animals are doing to keep warm?
Why do birds migrate?
What does a turtle do when it’s cold?
These are just some of the questions we’ll answer as we meet some of
Westmoreland’s animals and discover what each species does to survive the deep
freeze.
10th, Saturday / 8:00 a.m. - BREAKFAST WITH THE BIRDS Join us this morning to enjoy some breakfast with our feathered friends. We’ll be inside the museum enjoying morning refreshments while watching the birds enjoy breakfast at our feeding station behind the museum. This is also a great opportunity to learn about bird behavior, feeding habits, and using bird feeders to attract birds to your yard. Space is limited to call us to reserve a place. Ages: All ages welcome Register by: Noon on January 9th.
11th, Sunday / 1:00 p.m. - WINTER WALK Shake
off the winter blues by joining us for a walk.

17th, Saturday / 9:30 a.m. - WINTER BACKYARD BIRD IDENTIFICATION
This is a
program for anyone interested in learning how to identify the most common birds
in your yard this winter.
We’ll spend an hour watching the feeders while you learn the basics of
bird identification and how to use a field guide.
18th, Sunday / 1:00 p.m. - TRACKING Many people are disappointed after they have
walked in the woods and not “seen” anything.
I know it sounds funny, but this program will teach you to “see.”
Learn how to interpret the clues left behind by birds, mammals and
insects. We will use our senses to
make the forest come alive. 24th, Saturday / 10:00 a.m. - BLUEBIRD HOUSE CONSTRUCTION Join us for a quick discussion about our state bird and why they need our
help to survive. Each participant
will also construct their own nesting box to take home and put up in their yard.
Registration is required since space is limited. Ages: 6 to Adult
Register by Wednesday, January 21st Fee: $4 per nesting box for
members
$6 per nesting box for non-members
25th, Sunday / 11:00 a.m. - WINTER BIRD IDENTIFICATION This program is

will explore the world of the highest form of life on Earth – The mammals.
Learn what makes them so successful by looking at and touching skulls,
teeth, bones and furs.
Maybe we will even get to touch a live one or two!
